Baked French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 loaf Italian bread, sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • nuts (optional)
  • 1 can pie filling, your choice of flavor
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Butter a 13x9 baking dish.
  2. Spread pie filling on the bottom of the dish
  3. Sprinkle on cinnamon, nuts and brown sugar.
  4. Lay slices of Italian bread in the dish.
  5. Mix together eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour it over the bread.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Bake in oven at 375 F for about 45 minutes.
